High Speed Stream
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Event Time: 2025-10-19T05:32Z ( ACE: MAG )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
ACE: MAG
ACE: SWEPAM
DSCOVR: PLASMAG
Activity ID: 2025-10-19T05:32:00-HSS-001 (version 4)
Event End Time:
Peak Solar Wind Speed (km/s):
Date of first appearance of coronal hole in EUV at east limb: 2025-10-11
Note: The start of the high speed stream at L1 is likely obscured by a sequence of arrivals of CMEs, so the start of high speed stream might be even earlier. There are gradual increases in solar wind speed from ~400 km/s to ~560 km/s and in ion temperature, as well as rapid oscillations of magnetic field components characteristic of a high speed stream. A possible flux rope is embedded in this signature starting around 2025-10-18T15:30Z, with Bz turning negative for almost 12 hours. This coronal hole high speed stream is likely associated with a coronal hole spanning S10 to N40 which reached the central meridian of the Earth-facing disk on 2025-10-16.
